Tour Itinerary:
AM Pick up from city hotel/residence and drive to Moshi Town, east of Arusha City, which is about 2 ½ – 3 hours’ drive. From Moshi Town, you will drive to Marangu Gate (approx. 45 minutes) on the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. At the gate finish necessary registration paperwork at the park gate and begin hiking at about 9:30 am. Hike through rainforest from the park gate (6000 ft) to Mandara Hut (9000 ft), taking about 3/4 hours. Stop halfway for lunch. Reach Mandara Huts at about 01.30 pm. After short tour at the hut, start descending to Marangu Gate and you may reach at the gate around 5 pm. A side trip to Maundi Crater (about 15 minutes away) is a good way to see the surroundings as well as views of Kenya and Northern Tanzania. You will return Arusha late evening around 19.00hrs. Transfers to your chosen city hotel/residence.
